Science in the Atomic Age - Berean Builders
Science in the Atomic Age course (Middle School)
The first semester of Science in the Atomic Age teaches students the history of science since the atomic bomb was invented. Students will see the scientific history of discoveries bringing us to where we are today in our scientific beliefs. Students will also learn that until the mid-1800s, most scientists held to the authority of the bible.
There is a bit of chemistry, physics, geology, etc.
Second semester teaches students about the human body with very relevant information for their health.
The over riding theme of this textbook is that all scientific conclusions are tentative, so why we trust the bible over science. This is an excellent course with a lot of fun experiments.
Discovering Design with Earth Science - Berean Builders
Earth Science (Middle/High school)
This course will leave students in absolute awe of God’s creation! We cover everything from rocks, minerals and fossils ( who doesn’t love fossils!) to weather, the universe, and much more. Dr. Jay Wile, the author and I are young, earth creationists and we let students know our bias up front. But, Dr. Wile has done an excellent job of sharing the data and then the interpretation from both sides…the old earth and the young earth scientist.
We share our bias, the pros and cons of both views, and let the students decide for themselves. We want students who can think for themselves. We do not seek to indoctrinate them to our views. I encourage the students to discuss what they are learning with their parents and pastors. The goal is to give students the information they need to defend their views on the age of the earth and evolution.
Discovering Design with Biology - Berean Builders
Biology ( High School)
This biology course is definitely college preparatory. It is packed full of so much interesting information including genetics and biotechnology and even environmental science.
We even do a little with forensic science and learn about solving crimes! Students love this section. The biotechnology chapter discusses genetic engineering including designer babies, cloning, CRISPR, etc. Students have found this chapter extremely interesting because it is the future and what they will be seeing more of in their lifetimes.
The end section of each chapter discusses how what has been learned in that chapter disproves evolution, giving students information to fight against this failed theory.
Advanced Biology - Apologia 2nd Edition The Human Body
Exploring Creation with Advanced Biology: Human Anatomy and Physiology ( High school) - Apologia
(Prerequisite is General biology course)
Human anatomy and physiology is not just for students planning a career in the medical field. Each of us should have a basic working knowledge of our body systems and how they work so we can navigate and advocate for our own health and the health of our loved ones.
This course gives an overview of our body systems and how they work. There are case studies where students have to figure out from knowledge learned what medical event happened to a football player, a grandmother, etc ., from their symptoms. What fun!
There is an anatomy coloring book to help students learn the parts of the body. Also, students will learn some Latin and Greek roots used in the medical field.
Marine Biology - Apologia 2nd Edition
Exploring Creation with Marine Biology 2nd Edition (High School)
Marine Biology is a core high school science course, so if chemistry and physics are not your thing, this course might be your answer. If you love the beach, fishing, snorkeling, sailing, or scuba diving, this course is for you. In this course, we study amazing organisms that exist in the ocean. As a student, you will even be able to dissect a shark. You will also learn about the geography of the oceans, continental drift, and plate tectonics. Students learn about the properties of water, the motion of the ocean, ocean zones, coral reefs, and other marine habitats. We also cover marine ecology, ocean resources, and the effects of humans on the sea.

Intro to Forensic Science: From a Biblical Worldview

Intro to Forensic Science is a unique course that combines the investigative sciences with a biblical worldview.
As the students delve into this study, they will discover how they can become a light to those around them in a fallen world.
Students will learn the basics of assessing a crime scene, collecting and analyzing evidence, and profiling criminals to be able to ascertain the truth.
This course includes:
-Charts, color photos, and more as it takes students from initial investigations to court proceedings
-A biblical component to tie each lesson to scripture
-History, procedures, and criminal cases solved by techniques of various forensic disciplines
This course guides students through difficult topics, but directs their attention back to God’s Word and its wisdom.
