Our 7th grade daughter took this course in the 2023-2024 school year and we couldn’t be more pleased. It was her first graded course ever, and exactly what we were hoping for. The text explains both creationist and evolutionist views, and shows why the evolutionist views don’t make as much sense. Our daughter was able to do all her experiments and lab reports independently, which freed me up to focus on homeschooling our other children and seemed like just the right transition step to independent high school work. Mrs. McKeeman is funny and gracious. Our daughter just loved her class “even though it was a lot of work!” We are signing up for Earth Science!

Dear Ms. McKeeman,

Thank you so much for making Science so enjoyable for my daughter. I thank God for you.  I appreciate your love for the LORD shining through Science as you teach the class.  This is Gabrielle's first formal Science class.  In the past, she did not have much interest in the subject and tried to avoid it as much as possible.  We even tried using Apologia Science but she showed no interest.  So, when I signed her up for this class, my husband and I were a little worried how she was going to deal with the workload with the little interest she had in Science.  Well, God showed we had nothing to worry about.  Your fun personality shines through to the class.  This has turned out to be her favorite subject in this year.  Just the other day, Gabrielle came to me mapping out her Science class she would like to take next year. She already has plans to take Biology from you.

Hi Lori,

I viewed your recent Marine Biology recording. Great job! I like to watch our more experienced teachers so that I can share some successful techniques with the newer teachers, so yours is always a good one to watch and learn from.

You teach with a great sense of humor and interact with your students to gauge how well they are paying attention and how well they know the material. I laughed when you joked with them about the creature with just a mouth and a foot being like a teenage boy. Too funny—and it does help students to learn when you help them make associations like that.

 This is the first subject/class where my son has been taught by someone other than myself.  We have enjoyed the gradual transition into a more student driven approach versus mom spoon feeding him.  The teacher (Lori McKeeman) has been wonderful about gently leading the students into absorbing more and more responsibility w/out overwhelming

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your class this year. You have been an amazing teacher, and have made it so interesting. To tell the truth, I was dreading Biology a bit but being part of your class made it so fun! I really appreciate how attentive you are to the chat box and how you take the time to get our questions answered. Our daughter is truly enjoying Science in the Atomic Age. Everything in the book is absolutely relevant to what's being taught and is understandable. The science experiments are simple to follow but beautifully reinforce the material. My husband and I love how detailed and up to date the text is. We debated between using this course and another popular homeschool course, but I am so glad we took the chance with Berean Builders. Furthermore, our daughter is truly enjoying Mrs. McKeeman. Our daughter is always relating the information discussed during the online time. Mrs. McKeeman shares relevant information and relatable personal stories that help the concepts from the reading stick. Most importantly, I absolutely love that Mrs. McKeeman discusses her own discoveries with Science and how these discoveries increased her faith in God as Creator. Mrs. McKeeman has been so helpful and responsive to any questions or concerns we have. Once again, I am so glad the Lord lead us to use Berean Builders. The course and Mrs. McKeeman have truly been a blessing to us this year.
