Head Teacher | Founder of Dragon Slayer

Lori is the Head Teacher and Founder of Dragon Slayer Online Courses. She brings over 30 years of teaching experience, combining her deep knowledge of education with a passion for student growth and advancement. Lori is dedicated to integrating a biblical foundation into her classrooms, ensuring that learning is not only academically enriching but also rooted in strong values.
Specializing in science, she strives to make complex concepts engaging and relatable, connecting lessons to real-world experiences whenever possible. Lori believes that curiosity and hands-on exploration are key to inspiring a lifelong love of learning. Outside the classroom, she enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures, reading, and discovering ways to bring her experiences into her teaching. Her goal is to create a dynamic and nurturing environment where every student can thrive, grow in knowledge, and develop both academically and personally.

The world has used science to lead astray multitudes of young people.

These courses, mainly written by Dr. Jay Wile and his co-authors, refute humanistic, scientific philosophy, giving students the information and tools necessary to battle against the nonsense being taught today.

Lori has taught Dr. Wile’s textbooks online for over 20 years after homeschooling five children, leading a Homeschool support group, 4-H group, teaching science and English for homeschool co-ops, and founding/directing a homeschool sports club….and much more in the homeschooling community.

She studied pre-med biology at Indiana University with a minor in English and Exercise Science for her Master’s work. Lori also taught English courses at Ivy Tech State College, Indiana.

She was lead teacher for three science courses for The Potter’s School and taught four different science courses at TPS for 15 years. Lori also taught through Berean Builders publisher’s website for five years with Dr. Jay Wile.

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy can be summed up in four words: Parents are the boss.

I homeschooled five children, so I get it. We desire the freedom to educate/raise our children in freedom…according to our family schedules and values.

So-

  1. If your family travels, has a field trip, a birthday party, etc., and your student misses a class, there will be a recording and no attendance deduction. You’re the boss.

  2. If you the parent decides your student needs an extension for a test or assignment, it’s granted, You are the boss.

  3. Parents develop the student grade transcript. I will give you the grade your student has earned for the work submitted to me, but you decide the final grade. You are the boss.

  4. BUT, if you want me to take deductions and hold students accountable for attendance and due dates, I will. You are the boss.

** However, it is beneficial for students to learn to meet deadlines (due dates) and to be in class on time. A life skill with lifelong benefits.

  5. I do expect students to be respectful of me and the other students in class and on the discussion board. I will let you know if they are not.

  6. My courses are parent friendly. Make sure your student is in class and keeping up with the assignments and bi-weekly tests. The students and I grade everything taking a load off of the parent/teacher. I send out progress reports so you know how your students are doing and how they can improve.

Bottom line- God gave you the children you have to raise according to your convictions. My job is to come along side to help your children learn science from a creation viewpoint and to be a godly role model, But you are the boss!
