The first semester of Science in the Atomic Age teaches students the history of science since the atomic bomb was invented. Students will see the scientific history of discoveries bringing us to where we are today in our scientific beliefs. Students will also learn that until the mid-1800s, most scientists held to the authority of the bible.
There is a bit of chemistry, physics, geology, etc.
Second semester teaches students about the human body with very relevant information for their health.
The over riding theme of this textbook is that all scientific conclusions are tentative, so why we trust the bible over science. This is an excellent course with a lot of fun experiments.

Our daughter is truly enjoying Science in the Atomic Age. Everything in the book is absolutely relevant to what's being taught and is understandable. The science experiments are simple to follow but beautifully reinforce the material. My husband and I love how detailed and up to date the text is. We debated between using this course and another popular homeschool course, but I am so glad we took the chance with Berean Builders. Furthermore, our daughter is truly enjoying Mrs. McKeeman. Our daughter is always relating the information discussed during the online time. Mrs. McKeeman shares relevant information and relatable personal stories that help the concepts from the reading stick. Most importantly, I absolutely love that Mrs. McKeeman discusses her own discoveries with Science and how these discoveries increased her faith in God as Creator. Mrs. McKeeman has been so helpful and responsive to any questions or concerns we have. Once again, I am so glad the Lord lead us to use Berean Builders. The course and Mrs. McKeeman have truly been a blessing to us this year.

This course will leave students in absolute awe of God’s creation! We cover everything from rocks, minerals and fossils ( who doesn’t love fossils!) to weather, the universe, and much more. Dr. Jay Wile, the author and I are young, earth creationists and we let students know our bias up front. But, Dr. Wile has done an excellent job of sharing the data and then the interpretation from both sides…the old earth and the young earth scientist.
We share our bias, the pros and cons of both views, and let the students decide for themselves. We want students who can think for themselves. We do not seek to indoctrinate them to our views. I encourage the students to discuss what they are learning with their parents and pastors. The goal is to give students the information they need to defend their views on the age of the earth and evolution.

This biology course is definitely college preparatory. It is packed full of so much interesting information including genetics and biotechnology and even environmental science.
We even do a little with forensic science and learn about solving crimes! Students love this section. The biotechnology chapter discusses genetic engineering including designer babies, cloning, CRISPR, etc. Students have found this chapter extremely interesting because it is the future and what they will be seeing more of in their lifetimes.
The end section of each chapter discusses how what has been learned in that chapter disproves evolution, giving students information to fight against this failed theory.
